Research

My research focuses on the mechanisms of visual word recognition. More specifically, I examine the early steps of orthographic processing in Chinese by studying the functional components implicated in the perception of complex characters.

I am also interested in statistical learning, which is the ability to extract statistical regularities from the world that surrounds us. I investigate the influence of orthographic and phonological statistical learning on reading in Chinese.
