Local vs Global Metacognitive Judgments
Imagine you are giving a presentation. You can’t quite gauge how the audience is reacting. But even in the absence of a third party telling you how it is going, you can make a judgment about your performance. Evan Cole and I want to figure out how much your global evaluation of the presentation (“The talk went poorly overall”) is influenced by local events (“Excellent, that sentence came out really well”).
